When ordering a battery, make sure you select the correct model. Some models numbers are very close to each other but have difference batteries. There can be more than one battery available for a laptop as different manufacturers offer higher capacity batteries that last longer per charge cycle. The more cells inside a battery, the longer it lasts. Check the battery ratings for the type of battery you have. You should find a rating that looks like this: 14.8V --- 4400mAh. This would be an 8-cell battery. Since battery cells have different capacities, remember that an 8-cell battery could also be 4000mAh or 4800mAh. So, when shopping for a battery, make sure the prices are for equivalent prices. The higher the milliamp rating of the battery, the longer you can use the battery before recharging it. The voltage of the battery does not matter. Typically, Lithium batteries are 10.8 volt to 11.1 volt or 14.4 volt to 14.8 volt. If the laptop does not turn on, it is not necessarily because of a bad battery, the laptop should work with no battery. Laptop batteries are generally good for 300-500 charges.
