When ordering a laptop DC Auto/Airplane/Travel adapter for your Acer laptop-netbook, check the voltage and amperage on the bottom of the laptop to make sure you are ordering the correct Auto/Travel/Airline adapter. Some laptop models have more than one compatible DC Auto/Travel/Airplane power adapter depending on the amperage rating. For the best compatible match of what your laptop needs, the DC power rating should be taken from the laptop, not the DC power adapter itself. You should find a power rating that looks like this: 19V --- 3.42A. The power rating can be found on the label on the bottom of the laptop, or in the battery compartment. Auto/Travel/Airplane adapters are safe to use within +/- 1V of the laptop voltage. It is also safe to have a higher amperage than marked on the laptop becuase the laptop can only pull the amperage it needs. Caution: Using less than the required amperage will cause the power supply to burn up because the laptop is pulling more amperage than the Auto/Airplane/Travel DC adapter can give it. Also, check the DC Jack on the back of the laptop to make sure it is not loose. This will cause the laptop to appear like the Auto/Airline/Travel power adapter is bad when the laptop is just not making connection with the DC power adapter tip. For use of this DC power adapter on an airplane, keep in mind that the airplane power connector puts out 75 watts of power. Check with the airline whether or not the plane you will be flying on provides the airline power connector tip at your seat.
